Until Disney makes a movie where the princess meets her prince charming at a drunken pool party, I'll never be a Disney Princess.
5 years ago, if you had told me that we'd be spending our Friday nights watching every Pixar movie, eating cereal for supper, and falling asleep with a kid or two lying on us, I'd have laughed in your face. Yet, that is my life. I've been in my pajamas since 6 only because it took me that long to get home.
The one thing I wish someone had explained to me about being a parent is that you never get to see your friends again. Ever! God forbid both of you have kids. Then, you just have to hope your paths cross during the holidays or at a doctor office. Other than that, it's a crap shoot. I wouldn't trade my life for all the money in the world. But I do miss my friends. I miss being able to decide I want to go somewhere and just go. I miss it only taking me a half hour to get up and out the door in the mornings. This morning, it was every bit of an hour just to get out the door. I don't know how people with lots of kids do it. I don't care what you think about her personally, that Duggar mom must be a magician or something. Or maybe she plans trips to the store weeks in advance.
Confession time: baby Scout is 6 months old and I still wear maternity pants. I can't quite fit into my pre-preggo pants yet and don't have the money or energy to go shopping for new clothes. Maternity pants are so comfy! No muffin top in those bad boys!! I may never not wear them. If you see me in public, chances are I'm wearing them. Or yoga pants. But don't worry. You won't see my yoga pants in yoga class.
